This and the next two pages come from Oliver W. Smallwood Sr. He attended and graduated from BJWS in 1967. The photos on this page are from his time there.
After graduation Oliver was one of the first replacements to CTT#9, assigned to the 101st Airborne Division. He joined the unit in December 1967 at Phan Rang. Oliver says, "Miller made Sgt and stayed there, SSgt Teeters went to BJWS as an instructor, the CO got wounded and one of original members died in a field hospital. David Hahn went to Germany."      They subsequently moved to Phu Bai and after a few months became the 557th IPCT assigned to 1st Brigade, H&H Company, 101st Airborne Division. Oliver says, "We got replacements after that. Some of the replacements were Lt Moore, Sgt Duenas, Kimbrough (Dog Handler) and Arvelo "Chief"."
After his tour in Vietnam Oliver was discharged in Oakland, Calfornia in October 1968.
Thanks to Oliver for sharing the photos and the history.
