THIS SECTION UPDATED- 4/25/01

In my research for the "Recognition" project, I have come across many GOOD resource sites for all types of information that may be of interest.  I offer them here and if YOU find any, send them to me - and I will add them.  I am also adding some of the necessary Forms needed for obtaining your DD214s and links to Government Sites to enable you to apply for updating your records and/or getting your medals, Service Medical Records, etc.  If you need letters from CTT of the Viet Nam War, Inc. - which is an authorized, non-profit, tax-exempt combat veterans' organization and accepted by the Federal Government as a legal representative - let me know!     Sue - 6 April 2001

VONAPP - THIS IS THE VA'S ON-LINE APPLICATION WEBSITE!  IF YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED COMPENSATION, PENSION OR VOCATIONAL BENEFITS BEFORE, THIS IS FOR YOU!  THIS IS FOR INJURIES INCURRED DURING YOUR SERVICE; PHYSICAL, MENTAL & EMOTIONAL PROBLEMS NOW THAT ARE RELATED TO YOUR TIME IN SERVICE.   GO TO THE LINK FOR ALL APPLICATION INFORMATION * (I will be posting a detailed list of related illnesses - physical, emotional and mental that are accepted as being related to the VN War.  Also, be aware that if you have a Purple Heart and/or Bronze Star and other valorous awards, you should NOT be "hassled" about combat experience.   We know that there have been a lot of problems with Trackers' records - and we ARE working on that - Please see the NEWSLETTER/MESSAGES Section where I will update on that project! IN THIS SECTION ARE THREE OF THE MANY PAGES OF RESOURCES  OFFERED THROUGH THE VA WEBSITE.  THE SITE HAS SO MUCH INFO THAT YOU CAN GET LOST! THESE HAVE DETAILED LINKS THAT ANSWER A LOT OF QUESTIONS AND CAN DIRECT YOU TO LINKS THAT ARE FOR SPECIFIC SITES FOR THOSE ANSWERS.

http://www.va.gov/bookmark/MedHome.htm   - This unusual collection has links from the Journal of the American Medical Association to the West Virginia Consult.  Many of them seem to be Sites that you would have no interest in - but go ahead and browse them, you'd be surprised what you may find!

http://www.va.gov/vso/default.asp  -  This collection is a database of all veterans' service organizations.   The VA acknowledges some of these groups so that they can provide "advisors" for veterans who want to apply to the VA for compensation and/or pension and/or education and other benefits.  The database also provides an excellent resource for veterans' organizations in general.

http://www.va.gov/forms/default.asp - This is an important section that allows you to find all types of VA forms.  It also gives you the direct link to the SF 180 - the form you will need to obtain your DD214, update to DD215, apply for your medals, etc.  The VA Forms are all available through this Page directly.

LET ME KNOW IF YOU FIND ANYTHING MORE IN THE VA ON LINE THAT SHOULD BE ADDED!  THIS RESOURCE SECTION IS A "WORK IN PROGRESS" - KEEP CHECKING BACK AND LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE A PARTICULAR AREA YOU WANT ME TO RESEARCH!

WHEN THIS SITE WAS JUST BEGINNING, I HAD THE GOOD FORTUNE TO "MEET" A LADY KNOWN AS THE "SEEKER" - LINDA HAMMER.  IF YOU ARE SEARCHING FOR ANYONE, MAY I RECOMMEND HER SITE!  THERE ARE ALSO REUNIONS AND A WEALTH OF OTHER "FINDING" MATERIALS FOR ALL - SHE'S DONE A MAGNIFICENT JOB OF IT.

THE SEEKER SITE - http://www.the-seeker.com  ***** RECOMMENDED BY SUE

THE ONLY ON-GOING STUDY OF AGENT ORANGE AND RELATED PROBLEMS IS THE NEW JERSEY AGENT ORANGE COMMISSION SET UP BY THE STATE.  THIS LINK HAS INFO ON WHAT THEY HAVE FOUND, AS WELL AS MANY OTHER REFERENCE LINKS AND OTHER HELPFUL SITES:  http://njaoc.org

SOME NEW LINKS ON AGENT ORANGE THAT HAVE RECENTLY COME TO MY ATTENTION:

AGENT ORANGE DEBRIEF - http://www.goiv.com./ao

OKLAHOMA AGENT ORANGE FOUNDATION - http://www.okagentorangefound.org   * GOOD!

VVA'S GUIDE ON AGENT ORANGE - http://www.vva.org/Benefits/vvgagent.htm   * GOOD!

ONE OF THE BEST ORGANIZATIONS FOR HELPING WITH THE VA PROCESS OR JUST ABOUT ANY OTHER NEED YOU MAY HAVE IS THE DISABLED AMERICAN VETS.  I CAN'T RECOMMEND THIS ORGANIZATION ENOUGH - BOTH FOR WHAT THEY CAN DO FOR YOU - OR IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP THEM OUT.  SUPERB ORGANIZATION!  http://www.dav.org

THIS IS ANOTHER GROUP THAT I FOUND WHILE SEARCHING OUT THERE IN CYBER SPACE.  IT'S "VETS HELPING VETS".  THEY ARE AGGRESSIVE IN APPROACHING THE VA AND HAVE A VERY "TAKE NO PRISONERS" ATTITUDE ABOUT IT.  THEY LIST YOUR RIGHTS AND HELP YOU FIND YOUR WAY THROUGH THE MAZE OF THE VA PROCESS.  A VERY COMPREHENSIVE SOURCE OF HELP AND COMPLETE AS WELL WITH MANY OTHER LINKS THAT HAVE OTHER AREAS YOU MAY BE INTERESTED IN.  http://www.soft-vision.com/tmkc/vetinfo.html
